The NSW HIV Strategy 2026-2030 was launched in May 2026. NSW ACCHOs can make an impact by maintaining the low prevalence of HIV in NSW through the key strategies: Prevent – Test – Treat – Stigma and discrimination. To support this vital work, ASHM has recently incorporated all the HIV guidelines here.
A useful tool includes the PrEP Guidelines which support GPs in prescribing PrEP for those at risk of acquiring HIV. In addition, AH&MRC provides FREE condoms and lube to all our member services so reach out to our Sexual Health Nurse Kodie kalderton@ahmrc.org.au to order now.
You’ll also notice [VB2.1]a new look to the Australian STI Management Guidelines, making it easier to navigate while used in-consult. The site will soon have an AI-powered assistant – MIRA – which is anticipated to provide users a smoother and faster way to access clinical guidance.
The online resource Syphilis Guidance for Primary Care has also been recently updated, providing a centralised location for key information around syphilis screening and management. As a member of the Enhance Syphilis Response Program, AH&MRC remains focused on supporting our Members in reducing the burden of syphilis in NSW communities.
A reminder that the NSW Sexual Health Info Link (SHIL) has a dedicated phone service for health professionals Monday-Friday from 9am to 7pm that can support syphilis management and referral. You can contact SHIL on 1800 451 624.
