The Aboriginal Health & Medical Research Council of NSW (AH&MRC) is now accepting applications for its Suicide Prevention and Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Small Grants Program.
With a total funding pool of $1 million, eligible AH&MRC Member Services can apply for grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 to deliver culturally safe, community-led initiatives that strengthen mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention across Aboriginal communities.
Funding will support projects that promote healing through culture, strengthen early intervention, aftercare and postvention responses, build community resilience, and increase access to culturally safe SEWB supports. A key focus of this grants round is building workforce capability within community-controlled settings.
Applications will be prioritised using NSW Suicide Monitoring System (SuMS) data alongside local community knowledge to ensure funding reaches areas of greatest need.
Eligible applicants must be Ordinary Members of AH&MRC and demonstrate the capacity to deliver the proposed activities.
