Our People to Live Stronger & Longer

GP & Registrar Recruitment

Why work with us?

Just like we know the best mechanics work in the intricate and highly-skilled environments of Motorsport and Formula 1, we know the best GP’s work in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector.

What makes GP’s working in our Member Services the best?

Under the AMS Holistic Model of Care, GP’s working in our Member Services sit within a community of practice where everyone is an equal contributor, meaning that support is always available at every level, to practice the full scope of your role as a GP and approach health in a way that treats the whole person, not just band-aid solutions. Our GP’s become respected and valued community leaders and the work they do is felt at a cultural, human and community level. GP’s working in our Aboriginal Communities have the ability to genuinely drive systemic change and contribute to the longevity of the world’s oldest living culture. Not everyone can say they have done that.

We have a sustainable and socially conscious alternative to locuming

While our project has a large focus on connecting GP’s who are looking for permanent roles, AHMRC can also connect you with short- and medium-term placements as a way of assisting our Member Services with continuity of care, leave coverage and disaster relief. A major benefit to our services is that when you connect through us, no agency or locum fees are charged to our services. These fees often exceed 20% of a daily GP rate- By working with AHMRC, GP’s in short- and medium-term placements will remain remunerated at the market “locum’ rate, however no additional fees will be charged to Member Service. This can be a saving of up $2000 a week per GP and is money our services can direct into better social outcomes for the community. Any GP taking up a short- or medium-term placement in an AHMRC Member Service is automatically contributing to this social impact.

Deadly Doctors Network

GP’s and Registrars working in AHMRC Member Services in NSW can be nominated to join the Deadly Doctors Network. This is an elite professional community of practice for the GP’s and Registrars working in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Sector, and includes access to professional, clinical and cultural support, along with cultural mentoring and training opportunities. We also run a monthly virtual drop-in session, where GP’s can de-brief, network, troubleshoot and connect with other professionals outside the workplace.
