Speech Therapist


We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech Therapist to join our clinical team, working with children and adults to assess and treat a range of speech and language disorders. 

This position is being offered 3 days per week (initially 3 days in Singleton with the view to shift to 2 days in Singleton and 1 day in Muswellbrook). Although this a non-identified role, we strongly encourage Aboriginal people to apply.

About the role:

Assessment and intervention of children with receptive and expressive language delays and disorders, speech sound disorders and complex disability Provide early intervention to babies and children Assessment and management of dysphagia Assessment and management of children with difficulties with phonological awareness and literacy Liaison with parents and schools to implement programs Assessment and intervention for clients with dysarthria, apraxia Administer therapy for rehabilitation of patients with communication problems caused  by disabilities
or hearing loss Maintain all patient records and notes in accordance with legal requirements Use evidence-based, problem-solving approach to clinical care.

  • Be able to work in a team and ability to network with other services and health professionals
  • Demonstrated patient-focused approach with genuine empathy and interest in patient needs
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be always well-presented, friendly and courteous
  • Professional presentation and positive attitude

Qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Therapy and Certified as a Practicing Member of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Professional indemnity insurance
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people
  • Experience working as a Speech Therapist in a community setting
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Eligible for Medicare Provider Number
