About the role

Katungul Aboriginal Corporation Regional Health and Community Services is seeking a motivated Recruitment/HR Officer to join our team on a Full-time 6-month contract (Maternity Leave). In this role, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end recruitment services, as well as supporting the organisation’s human resources function. You can choose to be based at one of our offices in Narooma, Batemans Bay or Bega.

*This role is open to applicants who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander only. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised in Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).

What you’ll be doing

  1. Developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent
  2. Managing the full recruitment lifecycle, including advertising roles, screening applicants, coordinating interviews, making job offers and preparing contracts
  3. Coordinate and undertake onboarding processes including employment contracts, induction, and pre-employment checks.
  4. Maintain employee records and HR information systems accurately and confidentially.
  5. Support coordination of staff training, induction, and development programs
  6. Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and employment matters.
  7. Participate in HR projects such as planning future staffing needs and employee engagement.

What we’re looking for

  1. Significant experience in a similar recruitment or HR generalist role, ideally within the not-for-profit or community services sector
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  3. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  4. Team player with initiative and problem-solving ability
  5. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field would be an advantage
