About the role
Katungul Aboriginal Corporation Regional Health and Community Services is seeking a motivated Recruitment/HR Officer to join our team on a Full-time 6-month contract (Maternity Leave). In this role, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end recruitment services, as well as supporting the organisation’s human resources function. You can choose to be based at one of our offices in Narooma, Batemans Bay or Bega.
*This role is open to applicants who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander only. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised in Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent
- Managing the full recruitment lifecycle, including advertising roles, screening applicants, coordinating interviews, making job offers and preparing contracts
- Coordinate and undertake onboarding processes including employment contracts, induction, and pre-employment checks.
- Maintain employee records and HR information systems accurately and confidentially.
- Support coordination of staff training, induction, and development programs
- Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and employment matters.
- Participate in HR projects such as planning future staffing needs and employee engagement.
What we’re looking for
- Significant experience in a similar recruitment or HR generalist role, ideally within the not-for-profit or community services sector
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Team player with initiative and problem-solving ability
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field would be an advantage
