General Manager - Finance and Corporate

Finance and Corporate Services provides the financial management and organisational systems that support AH&MRC’s work. The portfolio strengthens accountability, efficient operations and organisational sustainability.

Its work includes budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, purchasing, supplier payments, funding acquittals and audit coordination. Corporate services supports internal policies, workforce processes and business systems. Communications and Marketing supports the organisation through website content, newsletters, social media, design, campaigns and accessible resources for members and communities.

Director of Intelligence

The Intelligence porftolio connects member priorities, evidence and policy to strengthen Aboriginal community-controlled healthcare. It supports advocacy, health program development and partnerships that respond to the needs of Member Services and Aboriginal communities. The portfolio’s work includes:

• Policy and advocacy: Developing policy submissions and positions, representing sector priorities and contributing to Closing the Gap reforms.
• Member engagement: Gathering member feedback and supporting forums, regional discussions and other opportunities for members to shape AH&MRC’s work.
• Research, evidence and evaluation: Building research capability, supporting program evaluation and strengthening the use of evidence and Aboriginal data governance.
• Research ethics: Providing secretariat and administrative support to the AH&MRC Ethics Committee, which independently reviews research affecting Aboriginal people and communities in NSW.
• Health programs and social and emotional wellbeing: Coordinating initiatives across mental health, suicide prevention, alcohol and other drugs, cancer care, ear health and tobacco and vaping prevention.
• Public health and health promotion: Supporting prevention, culturally appropriate health resources and responses to emerging public health priorities, including emergency preparedness.

Jade Hansen

Director of Recovery

Sector Support works directly with Member Services to strengthen service quality, clinical systems and financial sustainability. The department provides practical advice, training and tailored support that helps services improve their operations and deliver high-quality, culturally safe care.

Its work includes continuous quality improvement, accreditation preparation, clinical governance support, Medicare billing and effective use of the Medicare Benefits Schedule. The team also supports digital health technologies, data quality and opportunities for services to share knowledge through training, networks and the annual CQI Forum.
