The Aboriginal Health & Medical Research Council (AH&MRC) is dedicated to assisting Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) across the four regions (Metropolitan, Northern, Southern and Western) of NSW to ensure they have access to an adequately resourced and skilled workforce enabling the ACCHSs to provide their local Aboriginal communities with holistic and culturally appropriate primary health care and Aboriginal health-related services.

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Events & Venue Coordinator to lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of a diverse program of events. Working closely with internal teams, members, suppliers and stakeholders, you will ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, culturally safe events that support organisational objectives and community engagement.
This is a hands-on role suited to a highly organised events professional who enjoys managing multiple projects, building strong relationships, and delivering exceptional event experiences.
The successful candidate will be based at our Pitt Street or Little Bay office, with travel between sites as required.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of events, including planning, logistics, supplier management and onsite execution
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with members, venues, contractors, sponsors and key stakeholders
- Manage event budgets, reporting, compliance requirements and post-event evaluations
- Coordinate venue hire activities, event resources, merchandise and promotional materials
- Support sponsorship opportunities, stakeholder engagement and event sustainability initiatives
- Manage event merchandise, staff uniforms and promotional materials in line with organisational branding requirements
- Ensure culturally safe, inclusive and high-quality event experiences for participants and communities, upholding WH&S standards across all AH&MRC events
- Travel to support events and represent the organisation as required
Essential Criteria
Qualifications:
- A qualification in event management is desirable, but candidates with 3–5 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
- Demonstrated experience delivering events from planning through to execution and evaluation
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and event management platforms such as Eventbrite
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel as required.
- Ability to work outside standard business hours when required (TOIL provided).

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering outcomes.
- Strong project and event coordination skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple events and competing priorities simultaneously
- Experience working with budgets, reporting requirements and event KPIs
- Knowledge of event operations, venue coordination, AV requirements and event logistics
- Adaptable, organised and able to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to culturally safe and inclusive engagement practices
- Video editing skills and marketing experience are a plus
