Do you want to be part of a new way of delivering mental health services? Are you passionate about improving mental health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities in rural and regional NSW?
This role is a rare opportunity to play a critical part in the implementation of a NSW Government funded Aboriginal-led model of mental health and wellbeing care, delivered by a consortium of Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations in partnership with Western NSW Local Health District and the Ministry of Health.
This position includes an initial attraction and relocation payment of $20,000 and up to $10,000 each year after.
This newly created, dynamic position role will allow the successful applicant to collaborate with Aboriginal Medical Services delivering the program, Western NSW Local Health District and the Ministry of Health to help design the service delivery structure, processes and obligations of the role. The purpose of the role is to support rural Aboriginal patients with much needed psychology services via onsite outreach consultations and occasional telehealth as required.
You will have the opportunity to build the mental health and wellbeing capacity of participating Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, develop strong clinical relationships with Local Health District Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol teams and continue to improve mental health referral pathways in the region. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to enhance the mental health of Aboriginal patients and improve health outcomes for our Aboriginal people. This role will allow for the successful applicant to work flexibly, collaboratively and in strong partnership with Aboriginal workforce within the Aboriginal Medical Services while having direct referral pathways to clinicians, support workers and more.
