Yoorana Gunya Family Healing Centre Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) based in Forbes, NSW. YG provides holistic, culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care services, mental health support, social support services and allied health to Aboriginal and non-Indigenous people. YG provides a range of programs to enhance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s overall wellbeing including health related programs, programs to strength community connection, mental health awareness and more.
The YG clinic is supported by General Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Community Support Team including Social and Emotional Wellbeing, Family Violence and various visiting allied health services including Optometrist, Audiologist, Cardiologist, Podiatrist, Dietitian, Gastroenterologist. YG has visiting Counsellor, Mental Health Nurse, Psychologist and refers to Psychiatry.
About the role
As the full time GP, you will be responsible for providing high level care to patients of Yoorana Gunya. This role will be required to work collaboratively with other Clinicians and external providers to achieve the best outcome for patients. The role will assist patients with a range of health and health related matters, identifying ways to improve health outcomes and providing support to patients to ensure the achievement of agreed program performance indicators and improvement of health outcomes of patients.
The clinic is opened Monday to Friday 9am to 5.00pm, no shift work required.
Key Accountabilities
To assist patients with a range of health and health related matters, identifying ways to improve health outcomes and providing support to patients by:
- Ensuring the delivery of culturally appropriate general health care to the community.
- Ensuring that educational and promotional components of the program are effective.
- Planning and implementing care components.
- Assessing and improving the overall health of patients within the community.
- Providing guidance and support to all staff as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must have no restrictions and require no supervision
- Sound post-graduate experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in clinical fields/health assessments and care planning.
- Sound knowledge of community health, public health and Aboriginal health.
- Experience working with health service agencies, non-government organisations, community groups and medical professionals at all levels.
- Experience with Patient Information Management Systems (including Best Practice).
Essential Requirements
- Sound knowledge of community health, public health and Aboriginal health.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise tact, initiative and sound judgement.
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate empathy when required.
- Sound level of numeracy and literacy skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
- Ability to hold a National Police Check and Working with Children Check Clearance.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands.
- Current valid Driver’s Licence.

Salary Packaging: Options are available.
Remuneration: The successful candidate will receive a remuneration of $300,000 + salary plus oncosts per annum pending required experience. One RDO per month for full time employees and 6 weeks annual leave. Additionally, extra shutdown time over Christmas.
If opting for a contractor rate, $1800 per day worked. We are flexible in discussing remuneration for the perfect candidate. Superannuation.
