Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the planning, delivery, and evaluation of mental health and SEWB projects and initiatives in collaboration with ACCHOs and sector partners
  • Support the development of culturally safe models of care and co-create mental health resources that are community-informed and strengths-based
  • Contribute to health promotion campaigns and events such as R U OK? Day and Mental Health Week
  • Assist with organising training sessions and workshops to support the ACCHO workforce and community education
  • Undertake research and translate evidence into practical resources and tools to support mental health service delivery
  • Support project administration tasks including meeting coordination, documentation, filing, and data tracking
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with ACCHOs, NSW Health, NGOs, and other key community stakeholders
  • Represent AH&MRC in sector meetings, consultations, forums, and reference groups
  • Prepare project materials such as workplans, progress reports, communication resources, and evaluation documents
  • Monitor project progress and contribute to performance and funding reporting

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in coordinating projects, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting
  • Tertiary qualifications in public health, mental health, health promotion, social sciences, or a related discipline
  • A strong understanding of the social and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal communities, including principles of culturally safe care
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build trusted relationships with Aboriginal communities and partner organisations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
  • Experience working within or alongside Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) or Aboriginal-led services (desirable)
  • Familiarity with health policy, funding agreements, and government reporting processes (desirable)
