Health Protection
The AH&MRC is committed to working with partner organisations to prepare, prevent, respond and recover from emergencies and major incidents that AH&MRC Member Services may encounter. Once an emergency has been identified the main role of the AH&MRC is to promote effective communication and networking between Member Services and the appropriate authorities.
Our current focus area in Health Protection are:
Health Protection, in general, is responsible for the surveillance of public health and actioning responses to public health issues. This can include monitoring the incidence of notifiable infectious diseases and taking appropriate action to control the spread of diseases. In addition to this, the AH&MRC also provides public health advice and responds to environmental issues affecting human health.
