Intake Officer
Full time role – 12-month contract
- $83,980 pa

Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service (AWAHS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation. AWAHS provides first class Primary Health Care Services to the Aboriginal community who reside in Albury / Wodonga and surrounding areas.
We provide a multidimensional concept of health care and meaningful pathways for clients to access all domains of health and wellbeing – social, emotional, cultural, spiritual, ancestral and community.
We are seeking someone exceptional to join our Social Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) team and:
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and maintain the intake referral process to the SEWB team
- Act as Duty Officer and be responsible for being the first contact for administrative and triage support for client referrals from internal and external stakeholders
- Build a positive rapport with a wide range of clients, as well as other social services, community, government agencies and medical referrers
- Work closely with local community and partner services to provide holistic and integrated care
- Enhance service coordination, client access and equity and motivate and engage community participation
- Provide strong links and professional partnerships between relevant staff and local agencies
Essential requirements for the position include:
- Demonstrated experience and well-developed skills in the delivery of assessment and referral services to individuals, families, and communities with diverse and complex cultural, emotional, and social needs
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and have established links with the local community.
- Ability to relate well to staff and clients
- Strong computer literacy
- Willingness and commitment to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Current Drivers Licence
