Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an experienced Psychologist on either a subcontractor or employee basis to provide a range of psychological services to contribute to the mental wellbeing of the local community.
This role is being offered 1 day per week.
About the role:
- Provision of Psychological Services
- Debriefing and Counselling
- Psychological Assessments and Treatment Interventions
- Evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of children and young people and adults including those with a disability
- Identification and diagnosis of mental, behavioural and emotional disorders
- Participation in research
- Contribution to the ongoing function of the Ungooroo team
- Staff training as required
About you:
- Ability to work within a team
- Commitment to the delivery of psychological services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Demonstrated person-focused approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be always well-presented, friendly and courteous
- Professional presentation and positive attitude
Qualifications and experience:
- General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and be registered with AHPRA
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Eligibility for Medicare Provider Number
- Experience providing psychological supports to Aboriginal people or experience working within Aboriginal communities
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills in dealing with the community, patients and staff members
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience using the
- Microsoft Office Suite and a demonstrated understanding of medical software
- Applicants will be subject to a Working with Children Check and a Criminal History Check
