Program Officer, Suicide Prevention

Overview
We are looking for a Program Officer, Suicide Prevention to join our team. We are searching for someone who truly wants to make a difference in their community.

About the Job
As the Program Officer, Suicide Prevention you are responsible for advising AH&MRC and our stakeholders of best practice evidence-based strategies that will support and strengthen Aboriginal Community Health Services.

You will:

  • Provide internal stakeholders with advice and interpretation of evidence-based strategies
  • Regularly review scientific literature and program delivery to ensure best practice
  • Identify and contribute expert knowledge to submissions and grant applications
  • In partnership with relevant bodies, develop policy and implementation strategies
  • Lead the scoping and writing of AH&MRC resources and guides
  • Building strong relationships with Government bodies and relevant organisations

About You
To be successful you will have:

  • A passionate approach to work
  • Empathic and a stakeholder centric focus
  • Understanding Aboriginal communities and cultures
  • Understanding the holistic impact of policy changes
  • The ability to explaining complex matters in layman’s terms
  • Relevant degree and/ or experience
