About the role
Katungul Aboriginal Corporation Regional Health and Community Services is seeking a full time or part time Oral Therapist/Hygienist to join our dynamic team in the beautiful coastal town of Narooma, NSW. As an Oral Therapist/Hygienist you will play a vital role in providing high-quality oral healthcare services to our local Indigenous community.
What you’ll be doing
- Conducting comprehensive oral hygiene assessments and developing personalized treatments plans
- Performing dental cleaning, scaling, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health
- Educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and providing recommendations for improved dental care
- Collaborating with the dental team to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care
- Maintaining detailed patient records and documentation
- Adhering to all relevant health and safety standards and regulations
What we’re looking for
- Be of Aboriginal and/or Torries Strait Islander descent (desirable)
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Oral Therapy or a related field
- Current registration with the Dental Board of Australia
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Oral Therapist/Hygienist with an adult scope, preferably in a community-based setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations
- Excellent clinical skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
