Corporate Services Manager


Location: [Headquarters of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service]

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Position Summary: The Corporate Services Manager is a vital leadership role within our Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service, responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the organisation’s corporate services, including finance, human resources, and Medicare claiming. This position is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities, enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of our services to the community we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Provide high-level administrative, strategic planning, and operational support to senior management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

Financial Oversight:

  • Advise on financial matters, assisting in the development of budgets and financial projections.
  • Manage revenue, income and expenditure
  • Oversee the organisation’s financial reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Manage Medicare claiming processes to maximise revenue and ensure accurate submissions.

Policy Development:

  • Develop and implement organisational policies, rules, and guidelines to ensure best practices in operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and changes to inform policy adjustments.

Staff Management:

  • Provide guidance and support in human resources management, including recruitment, training, performance management, and staff development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that reflects the values of the Aboriginal community.

Strategic Advising:

  • Offer expert advice to senior management on corporate services strategies and operational improvements.
  • Represent the organisation at public events, negotiations, and partnerships, advocating for the needs and interests of the Aboriginal community.

Analytical Problem Solving:

  • Analyze complex operational issues, developing effective plans and strategies to address them.
  • Prepare detailed reports and submissions regarding the organisation’s resources and operational performance for stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in corporate services management, preferably within the health or community services sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and Medicare claiming processes.
  • Excellent skills in administration, accounting, and personnel management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and confidently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Cultural competency and understanding of the Aboriginal community and its health service needs.
