Aboriginal Health Practitioner – Aboriginal Identified

We are currently looking for Aboriginal Health Practitioners to join our Mount Druitt Clinic Teams.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Provide culturally appropriate health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
  • Conduct health assessments and screenings.
  • Provide health education and promotion to individuals and groups.
  • Advocate for the health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities.

Essential Criteria:

  • Aboriginality.
  • Certificate IV Aboriginal Primary Health Care Practice
  • Demonstrated experience in providing health services to Aboriginal people in the community and/or primary health care nursing.
  • Proven ability to work well within a service team.
  • Demonstrated experience of working independently and/or showing initiative in relation to patient care.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues that impact on Aboriginal people and Aboriginal communities.
  • Understanding and knowledge of specialist medical, allied health and support services locally.
  • A Current National Police Check.
  • A Current Working With Childrens Check NSW.
  • Current Driver’s License that allows you to drive in Australia.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster information (or evidence of a valid medical exemption).
  • Immunisation records.
