
AH&MRC Chief Executive Officer Appointment
The Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council of NSW (AH&MRC) announced today, the appointment of Associate Professor Boe Rambaldini as the new incoming Chief Executive Officer of the AH&MRC.
Associate Professor Rambaldini better known as Boe, has collaborated with over 20 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services across NSW as well as government departments, universities, and professional associations. Boe is also recognised as an Aboriginal Elder of the Bundjalung Nation on the north coast of NSW. Boe was also the Director of the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health at the University of Sydney from 2017 to 2022 as well as an Associate Professor at Macquarie University and the co-lead at the Djurali Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research and Education Centre.
His current work at Macquarie University builds on these long-standing relationships to improve the health status of Aboriginal people across NSW.
Boe is currently the Chief Investigator on few grants, including: Antecedents of Renal Disease in Aboriginal Children and young adults study – ARDAC and Flinders University; Improving care pathways for Otitis Media in Aboriginal children.
Associate Professor Rambaldini succeeds the former CEO Robert Skeen, who returned back to Queensland in April 2023.
The AH&MRC Board Chair, Professor Phil Naden, said the Board of Directors were relieved to appoint Boe to the CEO position after a rigorous recruitment process “The Board welcome the new CEO and we look forward to working closely with Boe to further improve Aboriginal Health outcomes for our people across NSW”.
“Professor Rambaldini brings to the role, a deep understanding of the complex issues surrounding Aboriginal Health with a strong focus on cultural governance, outcomes and research design.
In December 2022 Boe was made an Honorary Fellow of the University of Sydney for his tireless advocacy for improved health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
“The AH&MRC Board are enthusiastic about Boe leading the organisation, Boe’s first day in the office will be Monday 24th July 2023”. Professor Naden said.
